How to celebrate Be More Kind day!
Celebrate November 13th by being more kind.
Introduced in 1985 by the World Kindness Movement (WKM), at its core, World Kindness Day is a day to highlight kindness[1]. The WKM is a global movement that has members from 27 different countries[2] and works to inspire individuals and connect nations to create a kinder world[3].
How can YOU celebrate?
The easiest way is to make an effort to be kinder in your day to day life. Random Acts of Kindness, another organization trying to make the world kinder, shared their seven suggestions:
- Send a friend or family member an uplifting text.
- With a smile and wave, let someone merge into traffic.
- Intentionally try to include laughter, delight, and kindness into your day.
- Try to bring a smile to someone’s face.
- Compliment a friend or co-worker.
- If you’ve lost touch or haven’t spoken to a family member in a while, reach out to them.
- Treat someone to a cup of coffee.[4]
If you want to do more…
If you’ve already mastered the art of being kinder in your day to day life, and want to do more, you can always volunteer or donate to charities that work towards kindness.
Just a few examples are:
- The World Kindness Movement (The group that started it all.) http://www.theworldkindnessmovement.org/
- Random Acts of Kindness Foundation https://www.randomactsofkindness.org/
- Random Acts (Actor Misha Collins’, from Supernatural, Non-Profit) https://www.randomacts.org/
Or even just volunteering or donating to a local charity that works to better your community members.
Little changes go a long way. Caring and kindness is core to Stat Staff’s philosophy, and we encourage everyone to be more kind.
