On Friday, October 15th, 2021, members of the healthcare community came together in Saratoga Springs, NY to honor the latest recipient of the Nurses House Dolphin Award. Davin Healthcare’s Faith Firenze introduced the recipient during her speech:
“Good evening, everyone, thank you all for being here tonight, my name is Faith Firenze and I have had the privilege to work alongside David Theobald in Marketing Management for 5 wonderful years.
Throughout this time, our partnership with Nurses House, and common mission in supporting nurses in need has been an incredible experience to say the least. When nomination time came around for 2021, I knew who embodied the qualifications and passion for nursing that the Dolphin Award represents.
The Dolphin Award is a prestigious honor, recognized each year to one individual who is dedicated to the betterment of nurses’ lives both professionally and personally.
Like a dolphin, making its way with agility, confidence, and optimism, these creatures often travel together, never leaving fellow dolphins to flounder or be left behind.
Tonight, as I stand here in great appreciation, honoring a true philanthropist, I reflect on the many lives that have been touched throughout these tumultuous and unknown times.
Nurses are in fact the heroes behind the curtain, and I am proud to be part of a team whose mission is to remove that curtain, bringing nurse appreciation and recognition to the forefront.
I want to congratulate David Theobald tonight for his altruistic spirit, being an inspirational leader, and tonight, being recognized as the 2021 Dolphin Award Winner.”
As stated on Nurses House’s website, “The Dolphin Award is an annual award given by Nurses House to honor an individual or group having made a substantial impact on our mission and the population to which we are dedicated.”
Nurses House is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that was founded in 1924 and has made helping nurses its mission. It achieves its goal by “providing short-term financial assistance to nurses in need as a result of illness, injury, or disability.” Its website goes on to say that it has “[h]elped thousands of nurses in all 50 states to regain health and productivity. Over the past three years, [it has] helped nearly 300 nurses, with grants totally over $350,000.”
We at Davin Healthcare felt fortunate to be one of the main sponsors for Nurses House’s recent COVID-19 campaign that raised over 3 million dollars for nurses on the frontlines.
Recently, we sat down with Stephanie Dauge, Director of Development at Nurses House to talk about the history and importance of Nurses House. Watch now:
We at Davin Healthcare want to congratulate our founder, David Theobald, MS, RN, CSP, on receiving the 2021 Dolphin Award.
We encourage everyone to donate and support Nurses House. Visit its website to learn more about how you can help this important cause.
