How does a VMS compare to an MSP?
A Vendor Management System (VMS) is a software system that a facility licenses for a fee, which enables its users to manage their own workforce. The facility establishes contracts with limited third-party suppliers to obtain candidates. Each of these companies has its own separate points of contact and processes, which can create an administrative burden.
As a Managed Service Provider (MSP), Davin Healthcare Workforce Solutions is an external organization that manages the agency workforce in its entirety. The MSP acts as an interface between the facility and other third-party suppliers, creating a single point of contact, single contract, and consistent streamlined processes, eliminating the time-consuming burden of talent acquisition and compliance for the facility’s administrative staff. Davin Healthcare creates clinically driven and customizable workforce and educational software solutions.
What happens with my current on-site caregivers?
They will continue in their contract and any renewal would need to be through Davin. If they aren’t already one of our partners, we will work with their current agency and do what it takes to ensure a smooth transition.
Will I lose my ability to work with local firms?
Not necessarily. Because of our strong work ethic many firms look to partnering with us. If we don’t already work with them, we will do everything we can to onboard them so they can continue to care for your community.
Who is responsible for communicating that Davin Healthcare is now your Managed Service Provider (MSP)?
During the on-boarding process we will provide you with a template letter that would need to be sent out to your current partners. The letter will need to come from your facility. We want to make this as seamless as possible for you. During this time you may get calls from your current agencies or other agencies. You can direct them to us and we will work with them to make sure you get the staff you need.
What happens if there is an issue with a caregiver?
Your Account Manager and our Clinical team will address any concerns immediately. Please reach out to us with any issues you may be having to we can address your concerns. We find open communication is key to a successful placement.

President and CEO David Theobald brings forth his knowledge and experience from working at the bedside to now pursuing his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in Nursing Leadership from Baylor University. A prime focus of Dave’s initiatives is developing long-term solutions for the nursing shortage with attention to educational advancement and research-based strategies to help hospitals improve their retention rates and provide top-quality patient care.

Kathy Mion, BSN, RN
Director of Clinical Services
Director of Clinical Services, Kathy Mion, BSN, RN leads Davin’s clinical team with over 25 years of nursing experience, during most of which she worked in various Emergency Departments around the country. Post-graduation, Kathy proudly served in the United States Navy as an officer in the NAVY Nursing Corps where her experience as a veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Storm, and 8 years of active-duty service played a vital role in becoming the influential leader and clinical mentor she is today.
Tom Kernan, J.D., SPHR, CHP
VP General Counsel/Strategic Planning
Tom Kernan, VP, General Counsel- Tom brings nearly two decades of legal experience to Davin Healthcare, where he oversees the company’s human resources compliance and risk management functions. Tom has a strong background in human resources and earned his SPHR certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) in 2020. Tom previously served as Chairman of the Health Care Section Council of the American Staffing Association (ASA) and served as a volunteer on the Section Council for four years.
